Attorney General Opinion Requested on Whether County Commissioner and Local School District Treasurer Positions Are Compatible

On February 10, 2022, the Morrow County Prosecuting Attorney submitted a request for a formal Ohio Attorney General opinion as to whether the treasurer of a local school district, who is running for election as county commissioner, may remain the treasurer if elected as a commissioner considering that the school district sits in the same county that the treasurer would serve as commissioner.

The McGown & Markling Team will provide an update once an opinion is issued. In the meantime, to read this request, click here.
