The United States Department of Education Releases Guidance Regarding Development and Implementation of IEP’s Under IDEA

The United States Department of Education has released a document entitled “Return to School Roadmap: Development and Implementation of Individualized Education Programs in the Least Restrictive Environment under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.”

The document provides guidance regarding certain Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (“IDEA”) requirements and provides other information for state and local educational agencies. Some topics included within the document are addressing the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of children with disabilities, determining appropriate measurable annual goals, and making extended school year services determinations.
